I avoided hitting a 6′ Black snake sunning itself on the road on our way home from camping and Bruce asked : Why is he laying in the road?
Lesa: Because the road is the warmest place in the woods right now. He’s cold blooded so when it’s cold he get’s cold. The road is warm so he gets warm.
Dillan: Daddy, can snakes live in trees?
Dave: Yes.
Dillan: Can they live in caves?
Lesa: Maybe close to the entrance because caves are colder.
Bruce: Whay did God make him like that?
Dave: He made some animals to be like snakes and crawl, he made some to have four legs and run like dogs, he made some to climb in trees like monkeys, and he made some to walk on two legs like us.
