Got up, ate, slow start but not a lazy morning either. Cut our yard. Hot before noon already! Ate lunch and headed to new property, Dillan and Bruce went, they played in creek for almost the entire 4 hours I cut grass, they were covered in mud from head to foot literally. I had to scrub Bruce in the shower because his first attempt to shower failed, still dirty just about everywhere. Ashley had a video conference with her Girl Scout troop while I was gone. Lesa, Ashley and Dwyane came up just past 5:30p; Lesa was worried about me because it was so hot, she imagined a heat stroke and the boys too busy playing to notice and decided to come up and check on me. I was almost finished so I got done, loaded the mower on the trailer, and we all left, the kids rode with me. Had supper, and took it easy the rest of the evening. Kids had two new forts, one using the swing set tower (Dillan) and one in the woods (Ashley, Dwyane and Bruce). They wanted to sleep in them and we said okay, they were coming in and out a lot, and they were running around in the dark with their flashlights and having a good old time. About 11p we heard a scream, Lesa thought it was the kid down the street, but I knew it was Bruce, so I went out on the deck to make sure things were okay. The kids in the woods saw a spider, the size of their hand, it was huge, and they weren’t going to sleep in that fort anymore. Dillan wasn’t about to stay out by himself so he came in too. I had to go out with them to get their pillows and blankets from the fort, they were too scared to go by themselves. They finally settled down and went to sleep – in their cozy and safe beds.
