Took the kids to the bus stop, thought about working but took the day off instead, did do some email and the Scrum meeting but no one was on. Lesa took PTO again. I spent a lot of the morning online and she spent hers working. We listened to music uninterrupted – no kids! I offered to take her to Taste of India even though we just had Indian last night. She jumped at the idea. We had our mouths all watering for their buffet but the buffet was closed. What a bummer. COVID killed our lunch plans, so we punted and ordered from the menu. It was still tasty and we have leftovers for tomorrow or Sunday. Called Sonja and wanted to pay her for pet sitting way back when we went to French Lick Villas, she was working from home, it was nice to actually see her in person again. We talked for awhile and then headed for home. I got back online and Lesa got back to work. I took a short nap since it was quiet and I used getting up early to take the kids to school as another excuse – not that I need an excuse to take a nap. After my nap I picked up the kids from the bus stop, they were all animated and excited and it was apparent they had a good day. Dillan has a science project and has to plant and grow some seeds, he picked peas. Ashley has a project on American Indians, she picked the Zuni tribe to do her project on. Dwyane was excited about not having homework, and Bruce was just excited about school in general. It was really a nice sight to see, it’s been a long time since they’ve been in school and it’s doing them all a lot of good being there. I’m as happy and excited for them as they are about being in school. Since it’s Friday we had pizza and a movie, Lesa picked out Despicable Me 2. I picked The Goonies when it came time for regular TV, Lesa let the big kids stay up later to see the end. Ashley fell asleep right away when she went to bed, Dillan stayed up late and read.
