Kids woke us before our alarm, played it off like they didn’t mean too, they were ready for breakfast. We ate and Lesa and I mapped out our day and then we had the kids get dressed and ready to leave. They started fighting immediately in the truck on the way to Lake Michigan Scenic Overlook North in Shoreham just south of St. Joseph. It was pretty nice place to stop and eat lunch which is what we did. The kids ran around the park a bit playing tag because they finished before us. Headed north into St. Joseph to Tiscornia Park. We played on the beach and then went out on the St Joseph North Pier all the way to the Inner Lighthouse and around. The Outer Lighthouse was too dangerous to take the kids and Lesa was freaking out anyway so we stopped there, still, the kids were thrilled! Then we went to Silver Beach and went out on the South Pier and watched a train cross the St. Joseph River swing bridge and watched as the bridge swung back open for river traffic, at least I thought it was cool but the kids weren’t as excited as I was. Then we headed to Warren Dunes State Park, and went the beach. The kids chased seagulls, got totally sopped in the waves, ran up the huge dunes – twice, and we had a lot of fun letting them have fun. After that we headed home where everyone took showers to get the sand out of their hair. After an exhaustive search for dinner finally settled on Redamak’s in Michigan City, I ordered and Ashley and me went to pick-up curbside and we brought it back and ate. Did a repeat of last night, had family time by playing some games. Dwyane and Bruce played Jenga and the rest of us played Yahtzee. Lesa won due to two Yahtzees, Ashley was second, Dillan third, and I had the lowest score so I lost. Then we watched Disney Plus so the kids could relax and unwind, they wanted to watch Mulan II so that’s what we did, not sure they relaxed much due to the excitement, and Lesa made them popcorn. Bed after that, hopefully they’ll sleep better tonight. Still no raccoon, the trap was in the driveway this morning from last night, the trappers thought we let the raccoon go and put it there but they had a way too small trap and we’re pretty sure the raccoon dragged it there and not our kids – unless they got up at 3a to let the thing go, I doubt it comes back now.
