We slept in just a bit. Kids were excited about going to Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Avery’s for Christmas yet we still had an easy laid back morning. Around noon we left for Indy and even with detours on Highway 37 we managed to get to their house on time. We decided to eat first, she had made a ham, and sides of course, and after eating we opened gifts. It was awkward, we didn’t know if we needed masks, should hug or not, etc. Avery is starting to slip, Bonnie is holding up mentally but seems to be having trouble physically. That’s the whole reason we decided to break our no-contact COVID rules and visit them for Christmas – it may be the last time we get to share with them. Kristie stopped by to say hi when she saw our truck. The kids wanted to go home immediately after opening gifts so they could play with their new toys, and it was kind of rude how quickly we left. When we got home the kids played the rest of the afternoon/evening with their new toys. Ashley had a virtual Girl Scout meeting to kick off cookie sales. We had our Friday night pizza since we had cabbage yesterday. The boys fell asleep fairly quickly, Dillan and Ashley have been staying up late reading their Kindles, but we tried to get them shut down because school starts on Monday.
