Planned on getting up early but my alarm doesn’t do weekends so woke up 30 minutes late. Made it out the door by 7:30a though. Took 46 across to Terre Haute and then I-70 to Hwy 1 and north to I-74. At Bloomington/Normal headed north on I-39 all the way past Madison and then north on Hwy 51 all the way to Merrill. We stopped just north of Bloomington at our normal stop – Subway. Ate dinner at Culver’s in Merrill and then got some groceries from Walmart. Then Hwy 17 north past Gleason and Parrish to our home. We arrived at 8:30pm our time, 7:30pm Wisconsin time, took us exactly 13 hours almost to the minute. The place is pretty decent, sans washer and dryer and air conditioning (not needed) and no firepit or anything but nice pond and woods. A bit too much highway traffic noise but it’s a decent place to call home for a few days. The kids had a really hard time getting to bed. Speaking of kids, they did pretty well considering they were in the car for so long. Not much for them to do here either. This was a trip for Lesa to see her family more than anything else.
