School and work, work and school – and basketball. I’ve been doing nothing but maps at work. Doing global updates after doing specific CONUS site updates. Going to be doing testing of map apps going from Red Hat 7.9 to Red Hat 8.4 to make sure everything renders correctly. Lesa went into work, not sure how her work is going to be honest – she never ever talks about work. I probably talk too much about work. Anyway, Ashley and the boys rode the bus home and walked the lane, I guess they are doing okay with being home alone. I know when Lesa is here she walks up the hill with Bloom to meet them. Not sure how they do when she works and are home alone. I should ask. I’ve been working 8, 8.5, 9, and even 9.5 hour days since we’ve moved. I got home and we ate supper right away so Ashley and I could go to Dillan’s ballgame in Linton. As part of the dinner conversation we found out that Ethan asked Ashley to go to dinner with him and his mom. Whoa, Nelly! Hold your horses young man! Told her the answer was going to be no and she was okay with that. We left at a decent time but by the time I dropped off a trash bag and stopped at Crane Credit Union for some cash to get in the game and for concessions we wound up being 5 minutes late. Eastern Greene beat Linton 32-23. Dillan got to play the last minute or so. Cadence, Ashley best friend, was there. Her mom is the bus driver (Bus #3) and she drives for athletic events often it seems. Ashley spent the entire evening with Cadence and just left me hanging by myself. I saw Ethan’s mom while there and went and had a talk with her about the dinner date. I told her Ashley is only eleven and we are definitely not okay with her going out on dates yet – not even chaperoned dates. She understood. Still, it has been on my mind all evening. Sooner, rather than later, she will be dating; and I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to handle that. She’s growing up way too fast. They all are but it seems most noticeable on her for me at least. Dillan is also starting to look less a kid and more a young man. I guess we’ll travel those roads and cross those bridges when we get there. Still, for now and the foreseeable near future I’m going to struggle with the idea. Dillan wanted to ride the bus with the team, especially since they won, and so Ashley and me drove home. Stopped in Linton and got gas really cheap. Beat Dillan to the school and we waited until the bus got there. When it did get there Ashley asked Cadence if she could spend the night this upcoming weekend but she can’t because she’s going to her father’s. Retrieved Dillan and headed home where I filled in Lesa on the game, Dillan, Ethan, and the evening.
