Back to normal work and school wise. Lesa headed out early, I got the kids to the bus stop and went to work myself. It seemed like a long day. I was tired driving home and wanted to fall asleep. Lesa said the exact same thing about trying to fall asleep while driving. On my way home I stopped to get the kids so Lesa could get supper ready. First Bruce – he was at Good News Club and got out first. Next was Dwyane – he was at his RATS! rehearsal. Then we headed to the high school to get Ashley and Dillan from track practice. They were later than usual because the coaches were trying to determine each team members’ event(s) and they handed out jerseys. Then we headed home. Lesa fixed breakfast for dinner. We had another dinner discussion regarding Dillan. Seems that Eastern Greene Middle School has a thing they do every nine weeks called the Incentive Breakfast. Teachers, staff, and administrators nominate one student for recognition and have the student and parents or guardians have breakfast at the school to honor their achievement. Dillan has been helping other students in Algebra – unprompted – and it didn’t go unnoticed. We let him read the letter and recommendation and his response was “Huh” – the exact same response we had. LOL! So, we’re proud of him because it’s a big thing and it’s exactly how we raised him to be. You contrast that with yesterday though and I just don’t know what to do with the boy! After dinner Dwyane, Lesa and myself went back to the high school for band/orchestra instrument night. Dwyane tried the violin, cello, bass, zylphone, snare drum, trumpet, trombone, French horn, clarinet, flute, and a sax. He would do good in band, but ultimately he liked the sound of the violin, so he will be in orchestra next year playing a half violin. Dillan band, Ashley choir, Dwyane orchestra, Bruce to be determined, Dad and Mom no talent. We have a skunk roaming around somewhere, we can smell it, so can the dogs but we’re keeping them in and they’re going crazy wanting to get it. I’m going to try live trapping it tomorrow. Watched a bit of television, boys took showers, Ashley snuggled with me (she’s trying to get sick) and even Dillan watched some television. Lesa did household chores which she calls household contributions. Bed early for Ashley, boys next, Dillan and Lesa at the same time, and I’m up late writing this – time for bed!
