It’s Friday, well, it was Friday. It’s Saturday morning now. However, on Friday Lesa worked from home, I took the kids to the bus stop, and then I went into work. Lesa got the boys after school, don’t know for sure but I’d say she drove up to get them because it would have been raining at that time. It was raining when I got off work too, and I went from work to get Ashley from her rehearsals, and then we went home. Of course Ashley wanted to go shopping: Dollar General, Walmart, Lowes, didn’t matter as long as money was involved. No, I didn’t want to go shopping which upset her like it always does. Both her and Dwyane need stuff for their plays but everything has to be now – there is no wait in her. We did pizza, and the big kids disappeared while the rest of us watched TV. Since we had tornado warnings the boys decided to watch a tornado movie and that got them good and scared – then the real storms rolled in. Media warned it would be a monster storm and it kind of was. We were lucky though, most of the bad stuff went to the north of us by a few miles but we could see and hear the light show and we had high winds. The trees were swaying back and forth and one of them behind the house was cracking – loudly – enough that I became worried it would fall on the house. I recorded some of the light show on my phone. All the kids came out on the deck with me because they could hear everything too – and they wanted to see – and they wanted confirmation everything would be okay. It calmed down a little bit ago and I think we’ll be good. Still rain, still have wind, but the worst is past. Sent the kids to bed long ago, and Lesa is in bed too. I’m pulling guard duty just like I always do. I ride it out until it’s over and I know everyone is safe and then I relax. Everyone else can rest easy because I’m on guard and keeping a watch and they know that I am and they feel safe because I do. It’s what dads do…
