Showered/enjoyed hotel room, woke up kids one-at-a-time. Dressed, packed to leave. Café Sinclair’s breakfast; menus without prices last night, this morning! First for us, lost on kids. Martina’s for dogs, helped remove plow from their new truck. Burger King lunch. Played outside.
Took dogs to Martina’s in Spencer. Drove to West Baden Springs hotel. Stopped at McDonald’s in Loogootee. Trolley ride from hotel to Wizard of Oz train ride. Private trolley to Hagen’s and back. At the hotel we swam, ate chocolate covered strawberries; kids watched big screen TV.
Normal daycare, school, work day. Lesa made it home by 5:00 with groceries. Combined Amber’s visit with Springville Elementary PTO fundraiser carnival by inviting her along. Everyone had good time. Amber took lots of pictures. Pizza Hut for dinner (not Amber). Walmart. Home late.
Today the day, totally wasn’t nervous. Doc said probably not cancer, looked like scar tissue but not, possibly a persistent infection. Katrina? Great news regardless! Won’t be dead at year’s end, at least not from lung cancer. Bought candy, shared with kids, celebration of sorts.
Dogs barking, up early. Kids ready on time, daycare early. Work busy, stayed late, time covered for tomorrow. Bruce told other kid’s mom “This my daddy!” Kids couldn’t play outside, raining. Kitchen skylight leaked, put tarp over it, stopped leaking, will call roofers in morning.
Held Dwyane’s hand and waited for bus with him, watched as he got on, he’s a cool kid. Made arrangements to meet girl down the street, wanted to hire her to watch animals this weekend, she didn’t show. Kids played outside. Ashley better, Dillan smarting off now. Ordinary evening.
Good start, forgot coffee, bad start! Worked 9.5 hr day, covering time for lung mass biopsy Thursday, not nervous yet. Ashley gave Layna at daycare hard time for second time, I took her microphone away as punishment. Scouts, took Ashley, they both pigged out on snacks, disgusted.
Deacon breakfast, up at 4 am. Easter Bunny left treats, toys; kids excited! Kids, Lesa sharp dressed in Easter best! Preschoolers sang Jesus Is Alive. Dwyane awesome! Bruce fingers in mouth. Both adorable! Proud they’re ours! Parents canceled visit. Chicken dinner, laid back day.
Lunch and Easter egg hunt at Dellinger-Ross Annual Easter Get Together at Fortville Park. Lesa stuffed 100 eggs with candy. Kids had great time, scored lots of goodies! At home kids played outside; they got muddy. I cooked salmon on grill, we ate on deck, fun time! Baths and bed.
Imagination Station called, Bruce fell off playground equipment, 1/4″ cut on back of head. Went to doctor, he’ll be okay. Visited Gary, Marilyn Lentz; kids played, adults talked about fostering. Stone Cutter’s Cafe, pizza supper, celebrated Dillan’s artwork. Worked until 12:15am.
