First day back to school after break; kids handled it well. Conversations with our lawyer Tammy Minger, then Sandy Bowman, about PAVAs. Bought tickets for Monster Jam in Indy on Jan 30th, taking Dillan and Ashley. Earned Cub Scout merit badge. Calling about buying a pig tomorrow.
Family Sunday; Lesa gets stressed, I like. Last day of break; daycare, school, work tomorrow; thank God! Tried for laid back slow day. All kids played outside, burned energy. Watched more TV than usual; Paw Patrol, Umizoomi, etc. Snuggled with Princess Ashley during Frozen movie.
I woke up angry at 6a, again at 7a, to kids fighting. Lesa took Dillan to Tractor Supply for pine shavings; he bought tractor trailer with $10 Christmas money; Lesa chipped in $2. Kids super-hyper! Took down tree, lights, most decorations. Lasagna dinner at Paul and Andrea Fries!
New Year’s Day! Relaxed most of the day. Lesa and Ashley went grocery shopping, Walmart and Dollar General. Ashley bought toys with $10 Christmas money she got from someone. The boys, myself stayed home; watched Spider-Man and Hulk. Ate cabbage dinner per tradition. A decent day.
New Year’s Eve! Last day at Alicia’s. Kids in disbelief when told Christmas Break is about over. Ate pizza so we can have cabbage and black-eyed peas tomorrow. Just another day to kids but Lesa and I managed to stay awake to kiss and bring in new year. Will 2016 Read more…
Kids had fun when Alicia took them outside to see her horses. Dwyane head-butted Ashley getting into truck; gusher of a nose bleed followed; wanted to eat out but nose still bleeding. Dillan and Bruce fought during prayer; made them eat by themselves after everyone else finished.
Day two at Alicia’s; kids not so hyped. Sun came out but temps dropped. Saw Brian Faubian on way home. Kids much better behaved compared to last few days! I’m exhausted, almost fell asleep during supper; Lesa noticed, ran baths for big kids, and let me snooze in chair. Bless Read more…
Christmas over; Dwyane says no presents under tree. Back to work. Daycare closed so kids went to Alicia Rainey’s in Heltonville, our old stomping grounds. Travel time sets me back at least 1/2 each way plus raining, bridge out, bottoms flooded. They enjoyed going! Still wound up!
Church; could tell kids enjoyed being someplace familiar. Home for lunch. Horrible drive to Indy for Christmas with my side; rained entire way. Christmas with parents, brother, and nieces. Exchanged gifts. Ham dinner, my mom went all out. Trip home was worse. Kids tired; bedtime!
Kids up early; still super excited. Toys everywhere! Lots of fighting; everyone wants to play with everyone else’s toys. Went to Franklin, IN for Christmas on Bonnie’s side. Kids brought home lots of presents; Lesa and I did too. Kids even more pumped; didn’t want to go to sleep.
