Email from Stephanie with court document attached; mom dropping ball; happy for us and kids; sad for mom especially since it’s the holiday season. Left work/picked up kids early. Played outside. They’re excited it’s Thanksgiving; excited my family is coming; even so, bed on time.
Worked over hoping to leave earlier tomorrow; picked kids up later than usual, they didn’t notice. Ashley scraped knee/belly at daycare. She’s not hurt but milking it; limping and acting like she’s dying; it’s hilarious! Slow evening; ate supper, kids’ baths, watched TV, bedtime.
Long day! Ashley said I need haircut so cut hair when I got home. Open Arms Thanksgiving Dinner; made it by six; dinner started at 6:45p so kids were really hungry, and complaining! Dillan getting on my nerves! He bit Ashley for 2nd time in 2 days! Starting to not Read more…
Church. Lunch, naps, and snacks. Kids played “Chutes and Ladders” with Lesa. Afterwards they made Play-Doh pizzas, but mostly made a mess. I cooked Ashley’s favorite – pancakes; and made waffles for Dillan. Watched “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and then put little kids to bed.
Kids still acting a little wild this morning. Ashley had another bad dream. Snowed but no accumulation. Lesa took kids to Walmart and Dollar Tree to buy toys as reward for their excellent midterm reports; ten $1.00 toys each. Watched a lot of TV since it was cold and wet Read more…
Stephanie fallout: Ashley woke up crying 4 times, bad dreams of people taking her away; Dillan peed pants in bedroom just 5-10 feet away from toilet; Ashley and Dillan separated from each other / other kids at daycare for fighting. Both Ashley and Dillan did terrific on midterms!
Coughing hard; had hours-long nose bleed at work and home. Stephanie, DCS Caseworker, visited to discuss termination. Judge ready but case law says relatives get a chance and they’re going to take it. At least two more hearings. No change in status, visits, etc. Needs to be over!
Rushed home from work, picked up kids, and headed to C3 for the Thanksgiving dinner. Ate with Paul and Andrea. Several people wanted to help load plates etc. We are blessed with so many friends. After dessert we pretty much headed straight home and got the kids into bed. Success!
Took Bruce to doctor’s first thing this morning to try and treat his dermatitis; then went to CVS for cream and medication. Much better day today than yesterday! Lesa steeled and prepared herself for the abuse from kids. Dillan ungrounded from watching TV so that probably helped.
Hard day! Stephanie emailed; said more hearings; paperwork errors! Dillan practiced for Scouts; den master not there; Dillan still had good time. Got home, Lesa at wits’ end. Bruce kicked her in face while changing his diaper. Lesa’s day ended doubting self, frustrated, in tears.
