Didn’t want to get up this morning but I did. Felt better after a shower. Lesa went to work. I went to work. Kids went to school. Bus came early and didn’t get much time with the kids. Doug asked if I didn’t want the rest of the wood and I asked what wood? Turned out we missed a bunch of rounds! So, I loaded up my truck with a bunch of rounds and tore up my hands and arms and got sore and sweaty but I got all the wood this time. It was picture day for track and field and I got online and ordered Dillan and Ashley’s pictures and texted them their order ids. It was also their first meet today but first Lesa and the boys. Both boys went to kid zone because the two big kids went to the high school. Lesa picked them up and got supper ready. I went straight to the track and got there shortly before the meet started. Ashley saw me coming and sprinted across the field and gave me the biggest hug! Such a great feeling! Every dad there wishes they were me! I’m the lucky one! I got to watch the kids do all their events and they both did great considering this is the first meet and jitters and all. Honestly though, I’m so proud of them. We have awesome kids! Lesa showed up with Dwyane and Bruce. The boys watched for a little bit and then ran around with their friends. Occasionally we had to reel them in because they were getting too rambunctious. They were horsing and playing in the field next to us by the track and concessions. Talked with a bunch of people and that’s kind of unusual for me – saw a lot more people – we’re getting entrenched into Greene County. Lesa and I both enjoyed watching the events – at least Lesa seemed to be having a good time watching. Tonight was the last night of square dancing and it’s kind of sad we didn’t get to be there to finish – I had a good time doing that. I also responded to a request for volunteers with Ashley’s play – they needed ticket takers, concession workers, and people to provide drinks and snacks to the kids. I offered to take tickets for three shows. I’ll watch the first one with family at full price, and I’ll take tickets for the next three shows and get in free afterwards. I might miss some of it but it won’t cost me $10 per show either – and it supports and helps out the school and music department. Dillan just disappeared when we got home. Dwyane and Bruce watched cartoons until bedtime. Ashley worked on homework until 10:30 or so. Lesa went to bed at 10. I’m about to go to bed!
