Wow! What a long day it’s been! It’s Easter Day – Resurrection Day. Either way, I got up at 4:30a and went to church to help with the Deacon’s Breakfast. Every year on Raster the Deacons cook breakfast for the congregation. I usually wind up deep frying the tater tots but this year I got to mix thirty-six dozen eggs and deliver them to three electric skillets. That’s it. That was my part. Ashley showed up around 7a. Lesa dropped her off. The kids found the Easter baskets the Easter Bunny left. After the people got served I was told I could leave so Ashley and I left and we went home and then the whole lot of us went back for Sunday School and Worship Service. I saw new faces which is good! I stayed awake but I yawned. Dillan stayed awake and Lesa made a big deal of it because he’s been falling asleep a lot. No, not drugs, I don’t think. I think he’s doing school, track, and trying to have fun and staying up late – burning it at both ends. I’m guilty too! After church, I took Ashley shopping. Marshall’s was closed but not Walmart. We bought her musical outfits. Saw Stephanie Clouse at Walmart and talked. Ashley’s happy, Lesa is not. Lesa was home cleaning and doing laundry and cooking and watching the boys while her daughter is out with her husband having a good time shopping. I get it. But Lesa could take her and have the good time but she doesn’t. I say house be damned. No one but her gives a damn and no one but us will every see it. Anyway, we weren’t gone long. Lesa made a nice ham dinner for Easter and I think everyone enjoyed it – I did. I ate too much. Bruce wanted to split wood so I let him. Then Dwyane joined. They use a wedge and 5 lb. sledge. Dillan wanted me to go out and supervise so he could us the maul so I did and he busted up some wood too. First, I let Bruce drive the mower, then I let Dwyane. I’m pretty sure Dillan wanted to drive it. We loaded the trailer with wood and then we drove it to the firepit where we stacked it. The boys were showing off to Lesa and Bruce in excitement said we he gets asked what he did this weekend he was going to say he drove the mower. Excitement was in the air over the mower and splitting wood. Dillan wanted a haircut and asked me if I’d cut his hair – so I did. Then Bruce asked me to cut his hair – so I did. Asked Dwyane and he was not having it! Ashley won the remote war and so West Side Story was watched. Normal bedtime and shutdown routine. Everyone asleep. I’ve going to bed too. I’m having issues as I write this (Lesa knows) so if I don’t wake up – I love you Lesa, Dillan, Ashley, Dwyane and Bruce! P.S. And Switzee and Bloom and Vicky, and I miss Porter, Cassie, Larry, and Morgan.
