Kids had school so I took them to the bus stop and I headed off to work. Lesa worked from home and was going to pick them up. Got a call from my boss, I need to tag and build the an OS and build slides for Patch Handover tomorrow – no one was tracking it and it wasn’t on my calendar, that put a real damper on things. Lesa wound up having a vet appointment for the dogs scheduled at the same time the kids needed picked up so I offered to get them. Later I threw her under the bus for not getting the kids, I was kind of upset, I would have rescheduled the vet appointment. Anyway, on my way to get the kids I got a text from Dillan’s baseball coach about tonight’s game plus a second, those weren’t on the calendar either. So we ate supper quickly, the chicken tasted all wrong, one of our meat birds, probably not processed right so rather than get sick we pitched it and said we’d get hotdogs at the game. Before the game we were putting the chickens in the run, found feathers, two are missing presumed dead. Got to the games and no hotdogs at the concessions so the kids ate chips and Lesa and I nothing. Dillan did okay, you could tell the entire team was rusty, it’s been 2 or 3 weeks since they’ve played. I told Dillan to ask the coach about pictures and the coach asked the director and he got them out of the event barn so we got Dillan’s pictures. Dillan looks good but that bat sucks, has duct tape holding the handle together and it looks like crap. After both games the team got their trophies. Baseball is over for the season and what a weird season it was! Took everyone home and Lesa made sandwiches and I headed back to work. I was at work until 1:40am and got home 2:15a or so. I’m sitting here in the dark with just the monitor backlight typing this status update trying to unwind before trying to go to bed. It’s been a rotten day for me except for the ball games.
