Tried to sleep in, honest. Was awakened by Ashley and Bruce standing next to my side of the bed, in the dark, and they said: It’s an emergency. Dwyane is bleeding from his eye. And I was awake just like that. So, they were chasing each other, and Dwyane tripped over some pillows, and hit his eye on Bruce’s toy box. Goose egg on the forehead above his eyebrow, and a ¼” cut on his eye lid. Laid him down, iced him up, cleaned and stopped bleeding, and made him take it easy for awhile. Boys played outside, Ashley read and played in her room. Text messages back and forth between Amanda and Lesa about Girl Scout Christmas Party and Christmas at the Zoo. Finally had to get involved and fire off a message about how our family was going to do things and settled the matter. After lunch Lesa dropped Ashley at the party and came back home. A couple of hours latter we all went and picked Ashley up and headed to the zoo. Stopped at Arby’s in Martinsville for a bite to go and got to the zoo. Found out the tickets were only valid for December 9 but the lady let us in anyway. Some drama from Ashley and Bruce, surprise, surprise. Got no arguments from anyone when it was time to leave which really was a surprise. Expected the kids to sleep on way home but none of them did. Had time for showers and a little TV before bed. I’m working on my communion meditation off and on – it’s due tomorrow.
