Lesa off, kids last day of school before break, I worked from home, the day went better for me, got a $4k Christmas bonus! Kids had real easy day, mostly catchup and holiday activities. They were all done early. Lesa took Louise to Bedford Vet to be spayed, had to carry her, she didn’t want to go into the vet’s. When Lesa got home you could tell she was visibly shaken, she loves that dog already. I said something like maybe she won’t come out of anesthesia and save us from doing the dirty deed and returning her, guess that upset a few people. Lesa stressed even though she isn’t working, she had a couple of year-end meetings she wanted to sit in on because they’d be discussing future plans. She was also hoping to wrap presents. She usually is by herself and has plenty of time but this year the kids are home – and so am I for that matter. Dillan picked up the old push mower frame and threw it at Ashley and hit her in the knee, she has complained about it all day. Bruce elbow dropped Dwyane in the back, he got in trouble for it, said Dillan taught him. Eastern Greene Elementary teachers had a Christmas “parade” where the teachers were lined up and there was a Santa at the end, and so I took all the kids even though it wasn’t for Dillan and Ashley. It was kind of nice hearing the boys say hi to their teachers and by the time we got to the end they were wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Their respective teachers gave them little gift bags with candy canes and stuff, it was really a nice thing to do and it showed they were thinking about the kids. Since I was trying to give Lesa some time alone I took the kids to Jiffy Treat in Bedford, no bubblegum ice cream but they had Oreo so that was a hit. Then we went and picked up Louise from the vet, she was groggy and didn’t really know what was happening, I had to lift her and put her in the truck. The kids begged me not to get rid of her. I just don’t know. My heart says keep her but my brain says she has to go. She didn’t bark or anything and was pretty much out of it the rest of the afternoon and evening. Lesa took the kids to get mail and Bruce was riding down the hill, his chain came off and he lost his brakes – he wiped out – bad. Got a call from Lesa saying I needed to come get him and the bike. He got smacked pretty good and I had to bandage him up but he’s good. Started pizza and a movie relatively early so we watched The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause: The Escape Clause. Then we watched the Astronauts (Episode 4?). Sent the kids off to bed after that.
