It’s was New Year’s Eve – now it’s New Year’s Day. Glad to be out of this crappy year alive and intact. We stayed home all day, well, not all day. I took Ashley to the little library boxes at Springville Park and Grocery and the books she left a few days ago were gone so she left five more at each, Ashley understands there’s a girl somewhere reading her old books and enjoying herself doing it. Pay it forward concept and Ashley is into it. Rained and sleeted all night so the deck is super slick, the road were okay. The boys play/fought/argued all day, pretty much a normal day for them. Ashley play with the boys some, they played house, Bruce got kicked out because he wanted to be the dog but Dwyane was the dog and Bruce didn’t want to be a cat. After all the commotion THAT caused Lesa broke out the catapult kits she had and I helped the kids make them while she did other things. We had to set them aside so the wood glue will have a chance to dry, supposed to wait 24 hours. Then we built the car kits, Ashley wanted a car which caused issues because Lesa bought her some sun catchers but she thought that was boring and wanted a car instead but since Lesa only bought three car kits we didn’t see how that was going to happen and them Dillan said he’d do the sun catchers and Ashley could have the car. So, I helped Ashley, Dwyane and Bruce build cars while Lesa and Dillan built sun catchers. It worked out okay. I still have a headache, dull but definitely there. I cleaned out the china cabinet, found all the car titles, and also put away my clothes – sort of New Year’s resolutions. Walked with Lesa and the kids to get mail, damn near killed me coming back, kids not phased, Lesa left me behind and apologized later saying if she stopped she wouldn’t be able to get back up, I’m like last time I walk with you guys since you just left me behind. We ate supper and then watched TV, I scanned in some documents I discovered while cleaning up, and the kids watched National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Started watching Karate Kid 2 but it was getting close to New Years so we switched to the New Years Ball dropping. Got to 5 seconds and there was a gigantic boom, sounded like a bomb, shook the whole house, the windows and the dishes in the cabinet rattled – scared the crap out of all of us! Got to 0 and we all hugged and kissed and went outside to listen to all the gunfire, it was the first time the kids had made it until midnight. Came back inside after a few minutes and we said a prayer for a good new year and for bringing us out of the old. Sent the kids to bed, no reading allowed, and they fell asleep pretty quickly. Good riddance 2020!
