Today was Dillan’s 13th birthday – he’s officially a teenager! The day started with Lesa and I working. During the day I got a text message saying Dillan wanted Gabe to spend the night and we were okay with that. We had tentativwely planned on going to Starlite Drive-in tonight and we decided we’d still go and take Gabe with us like we did the last time we went. When Lesa got off work she took Dillan and went to Bloomfield Dairy Queen to get his Reese Peanut Butter Cup cake that he requested. Then she went to the Post Office and picked up a couple of packages. And then she went to Springville to pick up Gabe. I got home and took the boys and Ashley to Bloomfield to get Mill Street Pizza and when I told Ashley our plans for the evening she was not okay with Gabe going, said he’d ruin it, but when I promised that the next time we go to the drive-in I’d let her ask one of her friends she was okay with it. We stopped at Ruler on the way to pick up some soda and saw Tonya Johnson. Then we picked up the pizzas and headed home. We ate and got ready for the movies. Playing was Minions: The Rise of Gru and Jurassic World: Dominion. We were third in line and got to park at the very front again. We brought a ball and the kids got a kickball game going and there were about 20 other kids that joined in as well. The kids had a blast! The novie started at 9:45pm and halfway through it started raining. We stayed under the liftgate of my truck and mostly we stayed dry. The rain stopped before the movie ended and we able to spread out and kick back again. The second movie came on and the sound was pretty spotty – it was super loud during the action and super low during conversations making it hard to hear even with the sound all the way up on my truck. We got home about 2:30am and Ashley and the boys went straight to bed, Lesa is in bed now too, and Dillan and Gabe are in his room talking – I’ve had to ask them to keep it down a couple times already. I’m finally winding down myself and headed to bed too.
