Got up, got ready for work, about 10 minutes before we left the power went out. No big deal for us since I was going to work and the kids to school, maybe a big deal for Lesa who worked from home. Got halfway to Hwy 54 on Olde Farm Road and was stopped by a line of vehicles being held up by a police car and two Duke Energy trucks, we were at a standstill and cars were backing up behind us as well. Called the bus driver, she said she’d wait until 17 after, that came and went, so I turned around and went halfway to Fayetteville and cut through the country to get to Hwy 54 and then had to drive the kids to school. Got the kids to school on time and went into work. Called a glass place and they didn’t return my call so I guess I’ll call another. Lesa called, Dwyane slipped on water and fell at school, hit his head, said it hurt and went to the nurses office, they gave him ice and he seemed okay so they sent him back to class. He was in tears and told his teacher his head hurt so he went back to the nurse, they gave Ibuprofen or something to help and a half hour later he was vomiting. Concussion comes to mind. So the nurse called us, Lesa called me, I told her pick him up and call the doctor and tell them what happened and then follow their instructions and if they could see him take him to the hospital. She got into the doctor’s okay, I left work early, called to let the bus driver Dwyane wouldn’t be on the bus, and picked up the kids from the bus stop. Went home and Lesa and Dwyane got home a little later. I told Lesa not to forget the Frosty afterward. Ashley threw a mini fit when she found out he got one and she didn’t. Dwyane is okay but his head still hurts. He’s only supposed to do a half day tomorrow and then we’ll evaluate how he’s doing. No TV tonight, the kids played games together. Lesa is sick, and I might be getting sick. Dwyane got up after bedtime, even after Lesa was in bed, and said he couldn’t sleep because his head hurt. I laid down with him for about an hour until he was drifting and he was okay after that. Poor guy.
